The Institutum and Tina Kim Gallery are co-presenting the group exhibition The Calling of Home, curated by London-based curators Wells Fray-Smith and Clara Che Wei Peh. It seeks to explore experiences of cultural displacement, alienation and rediscovery among immigrant and diasporic subjectivities in Southeast Asia. The exhibition features the work of artists Cheong See Min (Malaysia), Marcos Kueh (Malaysia), Jennifer Tee (Netherlands) and Khairulddin Wahab (Singapore), whose creative practices collectively span painting, textile and paper collage. Hailing from diverse backgrounds, these four artists draw from colonial histories, sacred iconographies and intimate memories, speaking to the concept of home as an elusive yet vital concept.
The Calling of Home will be on view from 2 July to 6 September 2025 at Tina Kim Gallery in Chelsea, New York City. More information here.

T:>Works marks its 40th anniversary with the creation of The AGEncy Fund, which honours the significant contributions of mature artists. Recognising a deficiency in institutional support, the Fund empowers artistic practitioners over sixty by providing them with resources to fuel their creative endeavours, culminating in a future AGEncy festival. The initiative will officially launch at a fundraiser screening of The House of Janus, a film that meditates on the pains of ageing and loss. The event will be a key part of DnA Fest, a slate of screenings, performances and parties taking place across two weekends in July, curated by the T:>Work’s Artistic Director Ong Keng Sen.
The AGEncy Fund will be launched at a screening of The House of Janus at the Oldham Theatre, 1 Canning Rise, Singapore, on 10 July 2025. More information here.

The gritty night markets of Java come alive in Pasar Malam, an exhibition of large-format screenprints presented by 16albermarle Project Space based in Sydney and Krack Print Studios in Yogyakarta. Curated by Krack co-founders Malcolm Smith and Sukma Smita, the exhibition features the work of Indonesian artists Alfin Agnuba, Enka Komariah, Ipeh Nur, Prihatmoko Moki, Restu Rataningtyas, Rizki Maulana, Rudi Hermawan, Tamarra, Timoteus Anggawan Kusno, alongside Australian artists Amina McConville, Ida Lawrence, Jumaadi, Leyla Stevens, Malcolm Smith and Tobias Richardson. Working together, the artists have produced a series of prints that capture the mystery and allure of these unique spaces, further examining the role they play within Indonesia’s cultural and economic ecosystem. Conceptualised as an immersive experience complete with coloured lights, raucous sounds and a loket or ticket booth, the show seeks to create an engaging environment for audiences to interact with the works.
Pasar Malam | Night Market will be on view in Semarang, Indonesia from 12 July to 10 August 2025, and will subsequently tour to various locations across Australia from 2026 to 2027. More information here.

In May 2025, the Hamburger Kunsthalle unveiled a new work by artist Truong Công Tùng, marking the artist’s first museum showcase in Germany. Titled Ngày tàn... Đêm lê (Day Wanes, Night Waxes), the large-scale installation is composed of soil, silk, wood, and mechanical components, evolving in response to fluctuating time and temperature. Truong is the recipient of the 2024 Philipp Otto Runge Fellowship, which has supported his research in Vietnam’s Central Highlands in preparation for the project. Having exhibited both in Vietnam and internationally, his extensive body of work charts the effects of modernisation through spiritual, ecological and cultural lenses.
Ngày tàn... Đêm lê (Day Wanes, Night Waxes) is on view at the foyer of the Gallery of Contemporary Art at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Germany, until 14 September 2025. More information here.
