Documenting the art ecosystem in Southeast Asia
Art & Market (A&M) features the Southeast Asian community’s artistic, business and curatorial practices.
The A&M team has worked with 140 writers so far to develop and publish compelling stories about creative processes, spaces, and critical issues. We strive for accessible art writing that reflects nuance and context. Since our beginnings in 2018, we have nurtured a global network of collaborators and readers who are invested in the region’s art ecosystem. Through the platform, we aim to inspire new conversations and foster sustainable relationships.
Since 2021, CHECK-IN has been our annual print project to supplement the content we publish on A&M Magazine. It is a collection of commissioned essays and interviews, spotlighting voices from Southeast Asia and introducing ideas from diverse geographies. An education and research resource, CHECK-IN is made for our Southeast Asian art community, as well as international friends who wish to understand what is happening on the ground.

The Team
Nadya Wang Founder and Managing Editor
Nadya Wang is Founder and Managing Editor of Art & Market (A&M) and Fashion & Market (F&M), documenting the art and fashion ecosystems in Southeast Asia. She is committed to telling stories about creative practices from the region, and works closely with the A&M and F&M teams to do so. Recently, she set up Front & Off-Centre, a cultural agency offering communications, curatorial and programming services. Nadya holds a PhD in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art.
Ian Tee Editor
Ian Tee is Editor at A&M. He is interested in how learning experiences can be shared among practitioners across generations and contexts. In his writings and commissioned texts, he hopes to highlight the regional and international connections that sustain art ecosystems. Ian is also an artist whose work is concerned with the experience of seeing and how paintings are “read”. Of late, he is reflecting on what it means to practice and the forms it could take.
Sharrona Valezka Art Director
As the Art Director at Art & Market, Sharrona leads the platform's creative direction. She shapes its identity across digital and editorial platforms, ensuring impactful storytelling. Sharrona approaches her work through a cross-disciplinary lens. Her practice is deeply rooted in the intersections of art and fashion in Southeast Asia, driven by thoughtful collaboration and cultural narratives. She is also the Art Director for sibling site Fashion & Market.
