Pinch Ceramics Studio | Planter
Planter
high-fired raku clay with black sand stamped with Pinch Studio stamp, on the base.
7 x 19.5 x 19.5cm.
This black ikebana vase gets its colour from the black sand mixed in during the folding of the clay. The use of the pinch method with one’s fingers to shape the vase, creating an organically shaped, irregular surface. The visibility of the process on the end product is what makes this piece unique, and a conversation piece for any setting. Pinch Ceramics Studio is a Singapore artist-run studio dedicated to the pleasure of working with clay. Founder Tricia Lim started working with clay as a child in her parents’ home studio. With Pinch, she is working with clay again to reconnect with her childhood rituals and share her joy in ceramics with the people around her.
