Art & Market (A&M) is a leading digital platform dedicated to Southeast Asian art and its global intersections.
Established in 2018, our mission is to demystify the art ecosystem and foster meaningful connections within the region’s vibrant creative landscape. Our editorial philosophy is encapsulated in our name’s ampersand. We view the “Market” not merely as a site of commerce, but as an expansive space for the exchange of ideas and professional practices. By exploring the entire life cycle of art—from its creation to its preservation—A&M champions the diverse relationships that sustain the industry.
We are committed to accessible, nuanced art writing through a mix of interviews, essays, and creative responses. To complement our digital presence, we publish CHECK-IN, an annual print journal launched in 2021 that spotlights Southeast Asian voices alongside global perspectives.
A&M is an original title under From The Margins, a multi-platform enterprise dedicated to amplifying regional narratives. The group includes From the Margins Education, the cultural agency Front & Off-Centre, and sibling publication Fashion & Market, with the upcoming Margins Magazine soon to join the portfolio.
